I went to pick up the group hair from Dejavu and afterwards did a little wandering around the Cupcake sim.  Not only is the sim itself cute but there is a great collection of designers, several of which I hadn’t even heard of before and now totally love.

Uma Ceawlin (who’s blog I absolutely LOVE) has a tee shop.  Adorable kawaii kinds of tees for $50L as well as freebie and dollarbie available.

From Polina Kaestner I got the black corset, $40L, trench coat, $80L and sequined dress, $50L.

I had to buy this top from (faire) it’s $65L and the jeans are $115L.  I headed over to &bean and picked up a freebie sweater from there (which I forgot to take a picture of) and snagged the lm to their discount location. Several items there are 50% off.

I picked up yet another awesome plaid shirt for $100L while I was there.  The jeans I’m wearing are from {Zaara} and are my new favorites, they come with 3 different wear styles for the bottoms for $125L.

Designer Spotlight -Xan Pixel of Symptom- February 3, 2009

For the first Designer Spotlight I did a quickie interview with Xan Pixel, the owner/creator of Symptom.

Who is your main inspiration? My main inspiration is my friend Ellie Celt, the owner of Eat Rice, I’ve known her a really long time, and I prolly would not even have a store if it wasn’t for her… infact she helped me right from day one when I started out in her stores basement and started to get better and better.

How hard is it to find recognition in the SL fashion industry? I think that is probably the hardest part OF being a designer, since I mainly build, and Im not too good at becoming well known, but I’ve had my store for almost a year now, and I dont plan on closing it anytime soon… but I do plan on upgrading ;]

What are the greatest problems and benefits facing SL designers? The biggest problem I would say is coming up with ideas for new products, and content theft… however the benefits is the fact that I was able to convert a lot of the sl money I’ve earned into RL money :D

Where do you like to shop? I looooove Aitui :D I dont really know where else I shop… lol.

What are your other interests in SL? I love to go look at spaceships on here… drive around, build cars, and mainly I just chat with my friends, talk on voice, fun stuffs

Are your designs a reflection of your RL style? Well I make girl clothes cause its kinda easier than guy clothes… but I sure as helllll dont go wearing bikinis, tank tops, girl pants… any of that stuff LOL but as for the designs, yeah I think they could represent my RL style. cept the pink stuff. lmao. and the girly stuff i make. wait that sounded bad Im a dood so uh the girls apparel I make. you know what i mean, lol.

What got you into creating things in SL? What really got me into building was the idea that I could create anything I want, something I’ve always wanted, and actually use it, so the first thing I built was a 10 prim airplane I got from a build it yourself kit from cubey terra. and after that I started building huuuuge spaceships and huge buildings, I loved buildin big stuff and walking around in it. I started doing accessories when I joined an RP sim called Midian City, and then thats where all my grungy/ neko stuff started out from.

How long have you been making things? Since the day I started, but I didnt start selling stuff till last summer.

Who are your favorite designers? ELLIE CELT :D AND TRAV MOKEEV! :D I dont really know anyone else actually. lol.

What’s the next project you’ll be working on? If I get time, Im seriously gunna build a 1971 plymouth gtx. but other than that mostly clothing.

Ok, last but not least, why did the chicken cross the road? Because it wanted some ****? loooooool.

Now for the goods :]

Starting at the top….I’m wearing the MDR9 color change headphones which are $200L.  The little glowly guy to my right is a dollarbie buddy, I’ve named him Murple. He’s the cutest little thing, moves around and his head kind of pops off, haha.  Color change as well.  The moon necklace is a little glowy and simple, it’s $75L.   The tshirt is a girls shirt but like much of Xan’s shirts I think could be worn by guys or girls.  Shirts range from $50-75L which isn’t bad at all, this one is $75L.  The jeans I’m wearing are also $75L.

Silly, geeky, cute February 2, 2009

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon a cute, and relatively new, hair store at Dogtown called ::Inorite::.  Really cute quirky hair.  Today until Valentine’s all red and pink styles are half off.  Leaving the price to be at, or a little above, $50L.  Violet also gave out a cutesy cupcake hair as a group freebie through her SOM.

The eyes I’m wearing throughout this post are a freebie from Geo Shapes. I met the owner last night and he is super nice.  There are also three 90min camp chairs at his store that offer a copy/no mod female shape.  Rylan and I were drooling over the guy shapes and became instant fans of the girl ones.

The oh-so-cute glasses I’m wearing are from Spoon! I went there in search of a raincoat and found several really cute things.  As far as I could tell everything is $69L. There is also a freebie shirt setting out that my inner 10 year old totally loves.

The jeans I’m wearing are from *Fishy Strawberry*. The color and detail on them is fantastic, one of the most realistic pair of jeans I’ve seen.  At $125L they’re a good add to your inventory.

As if my collection of hair wasn’t hogging up enough of my inventory, my collection of dresses isn’t far behind.  This is also from Fishy Strawberry and also $125L.

On my way out I caught these leggings, part of a Valentine’s freebie set out as well as a cute heart shirt.

All poses are from Long Awkward Pose
