Is it summer yet? March 23, 2009

I’m a huge fan of winter, I love the snow, christmas lights and the way grass crunches when there’s a layer of frost on it.  Yet….this year, I’m sick and tired of winter. Too much snow and it’s been horribly cold.  I’m actually excited for summer (which is really weird).  After rummaging through my swimsuits folder for a party I was going to I decided that I was going to roam around in them for a while and pretend it was warm and sunny out.  I found some cute freebie poses on xstreet, so I snagged Kith and told him to throw on some swim trunks and come pretend with me. haha

These first 2 sets of poses are from :vyvy: (xstreet purchase) both are freebies.  The normal price for the poses is $50L which is superrr cheap and they have quite a few.  Kith’s first pair of swim trunks is from JJ’s, they’re $15L and there are several other colors for $75L.  They are transfer which is nice for gifting and come on the pants layer. There are also a few girls suits and boardshorts for around that much as well.  The second pair of trunks are from Vitamen for $80L and come on both pants/underpants layers.

These next 2 sets are poses from sr3d.  The first is their current freebie on xstreet, there also is a $10L pose but I forgot completely about it when taking pictures. The second is a group freebie in store.  The group joiner is at the main desk and the gift behind the stair well next to two lucky chairs.  Normally their poses run at $200L, there are some creative ones as well as a few poses with props.  Kith’s first pair of trunks is from Sensual Mistery for $120L, the second pair from Vitamen for $100L.  Both pairs of trunks come on pants/underpants layers.  The suits I’m wearing throughout are a 4 pack from PinUp Dolls, if there’s one thing I love more than plaid it’s pokadots.  $100L will get you a red w/white pokadots, red w/black pokadots, white w/black pokadots and a solid red suit.  The suit comes on both shirt/pants and undershirt/pants layers.

This pose is a freebie from Valiant and although you can’t see it is actually a seashell shaped pose ball and is slightly animated.  As I mentioned above JJ’s has some girl swimsuits as well, this one is currently $1L.  I believe it comes on the underpants layers only, which is a bit of a bummer but still is really cute and only a $1L.

The hair we are both wearing through this post is the group gift from kMADd (link directly for the group), it comes in shades of blonde – 11 styles total. I highly recommend joining (and staying) in this group as you get good info about their sales and also great group gifts from time to time.

Malt Milkshake March 23, 2009

.:Malt:. just moved their mainstore to a brand new sim. Until the 28th there is a sim-wide hunt with 10 items from Malt and 5 from Spork, each 50L.  I haven’t had a chance to do it yet and also found that several other blogs had covered the items, if you check Malt Fashions blog there are links to other sites.  There is also a freebie tunic that will be out the duration of the hunt and is a perfect addition to your spring/summer wardrobe.

I’ve paired it with a vest from Armidi randomly and kind of liked how it turned out (shrug).  It’s $145 but I’ve had it since like May or June of last year and it’s by far my favorite vest.

This second tunic was just sent out to her SOM, to sign up simply walk into the mainstore, it’s right in front.  Then click again and go to history to find it.  The ears I’m wearing throughout are ones I previously blogged from Sn@tch.

Feeling Poetic February 25, 2009

Those who know me know that 98% of the time in sl my eyes are green.  I searched for months for the perfect pair of green eyes.  I was oh so excited the day I did, Poetic Eyes are in my opinion the best, most realistic eyes in sl.  For $200L you get a S, M and L version.  In comparison to some other eyes that may seem a little more than you’re wanting to spend, but, I promise you won’t regret it.

OMG Shews February 11, 2009

So anyone you ask will tell you…I am not a shoe girl. 90% of the time in sl I’m wearing chucks (aka pornstars) and in rl it’s either cutesy sneakers or flipflops.  Yet, when I found these heels I got super excited and decided I had to blog them right away. haha They are a little funky, perhaps that’s why I like them.

These are free from Digit Darkes, yes, free. All you have to do is play a little matching game and yay free shoes.  The board for the game is directly to the right of the entrance against the wall.  Play as many times as you like until you win. There’s also a lucky chair against the back wall in case you’d like to stalk that for even more free shoes. :]

I wandered over to Diversity Hair and picked up the Valentine’s gift.  Messy bun pigtails in Gummy Pink, Lusty Red, Punky Pink, Raspberry and Sterling Silver.  I’m wearing the Lusty Red but I tweaked it a little so it was a darker shade.

I Wear My Sunglasses at Night February 5, 2009

LA Street Scene is one of my favorite malls.  Their hunts are usually pretty easy and the gifts really nice.  For Valentine’s they are having a hunt from the 2nd until the 15th.  Little hearts are scattered around the sim, simply find them and buy for $1L. Here are some of my favorite finds.

The tube top and tank are both from Gorgeous.  In the actual store there are three freebie skins which I didn’t have a chance to check out.  Gorgeous also has a very small selection of hair, I think only one style.  My hair in the first picture is in the hunt and is a great sleek side pony. The rest of the items are around $100L or less. The heart belt is also from the hunt, I’m blanking on the name of the store which had it at the moment.  The jeans I’m wearing are the BEST jeans to wear with sneakers/flats in my opinion.  They’re from Gearshift(also available on xstreet) and $200L, but if you’re like me and live in chucks they are well worth it.

I’d seen this shirt all over Flickr and as I previously mentioned, I do have a fondness for plaid.  Lucky me (and you) it’s a group freebie from *Thimbles* and it both for the guys and the girls.

*Thimbles* has a lot of very reasonably priced items.  I have several dresses from there as well as some tops.  I picked this one up today for $75L, it’s just revealing enough but still classy, it’s also great for layering with other pieces.   The glasses I’m wearing throughout this post are both from the LA Hunt, set out by Spexx.

Super quick post before I head out the door to run some errands.

At Maitreya there is a freebie outfit set out by Emery.  Turn right when you walk in and it’s on the wall right next to the door across from the hair building.  Tube socks  = <3

The hair I’m wearing is also from Maitreya.  I love love love the hair there, the texture is so smooth and the styles really great. $200L will get you a three color pack.

Humming Bird February 2, 2009

I love finding cute little stores, love it even more when they have things for super cheap. :]  Elana tp’d me to Ladybird where the entire store is $1L except for the furniture I believe.  I’ve heard it’s a going out of business sale but don’t know for sure, so may want to check it out soon.

I hopped up on the desk to take a picture and instantly thought of the scene from Dead Poets Society.  Being a spaz I made sure to shout in local chat “Oh captain my captain” to which someone 46m away shouted back “wtf?”

I also went to Humming after sneakily inspecting people’s outfits while stalking a lucky chair, shhhhh. Everything there is $30-50L and there is also a lucky board that flips fairly quickly.

The skirt is from the Humming lucky board, the shirt and socks are part of the parka outfit from Ladybird.

I’m a huge fan of both plaid and argyle.  I bought the socks (from Humming) without even thinking.  A brown and grey pair come together for $30L.  The tunic top is also from Humming and is $50L.  The cute little cropped jeans are from Ladybird.

Silly, geeky, cute February 2, 2009

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon a cute, and relatively new, hair store at Dogtown called ::Inorite::.  Really cute quirky hair.  Today until Valentine’s all red and pink styles are half off.  Leaving the price to be at, or a little above, $50L.  Violet also gave out a cutesy cupcake hair as a group freebie through her SOM.

The eyes I’m wearing throughout this post are a freebie from Geo Shapes. I met the owner last night and he is super nice.  There are also three 90min camp chairs at his store that offer a copy/no mod female shape.  Rylan and I were drooling over the guy shapes and became instant fans of the girl ones.

The oh-so-cute glasses I’m wearing are from Spoon! I went there in search of a raincoat and found several really cute things.  As far as I could tell everything is $69L. There is also a freebie shirt setting out that my inner 10 year old totally loves.

The jeans I’m wearing are from *Fishy Strawberry*. The color and detail on them is fantastic, one of the most realistic pair of jeans I’ve seen.  At $125L they’re a good add to your inventory.

As if my collection of hair wasn’t hogging up enough of my inventory, my collection of dresses isn’t far behind.  This is also from Fishy Strawberry and also $125L.

On my way out I caught these leggings, part of a Valentine’s freebie set out as well as a cute heart shirt.
